It’s not hard for me to conceptualize nuclear great power politics, because I’ve been there before. I’m old enough to remember the world before that brief unipolar aberration, which G.H.W. Bush called the “new world order” and Fukuyama called the “end of history.”
Here is a concept:
Human beings are psychotic hairless apes and we only understand one single thing, blistering violence.
Arm yourself to the teeth, and develop those nukes. It’s the only way to live life on this shitty dirty planet.
When the only thing you’re exposed to is psychotic hairless ape behavior (Western imperialism), then the only sensible response to that is blistering violence. Otherwise, nukes and many other forms of deterrence wouldn’t be necessary at all. To suggest that humans are incapable of understanding beyond violence, knowing that most forms of violence were carried out by the West throughout history, is incredibly ignorant.
